Hezbollah Leader and Iranian Foreign Minister Discuss Regional Developments in Beirut Meeting

BEIRUT, February 10, 2024 (Saba) - Hezbollah's general-secretary, Hassan Nasrollah, engaged in high-level discussions with the Iranian foreign minister, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, in a significant meeting held in Beirut on Saturday. The meeting, which convened in the presence of the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, sought to address various pressing regional developments, with a particular focus on the evolving situations in Gaza, South Lebanon, and other fronts within the Resistance Axis, as reported by Mayadeen.

Amid escalating tensions and shifting geopolitical dynamics, Nasrollah and Abdollahian emphasized the critical role played by Hezbollah and the Lebanese resistance in recent confrontations, notably highlighting their strategic involvement in the Aqsa Storm battle. The discussions underscored the shared commitment of both Hezbollah and Iran to bolstering regional stability and safeguarding Lebanon's security interests.

In a press conference following his arrival in Beirut on Friday, Abdollahian reiterated Iran's unwavering support for Lebanon, stressing that the security of Lebanon is inseparable from Iran's broader regional security concerns. Abdollahian condemned Israel's prolonged aggression against Gaza and the West Bank, noting the failure of Tel Aviv to achieve its stated objectives despite months of relentless violence.

Beyond the Nasrollah-Abdollahian meeting, the Iranian foreign minister also held discussions with Lebanese Prime Minister Najeeb Miqati, underscoring the importance of continued diplomatic dialogue and cooperation between Iran and Lebanon. Abdollahian's visit is expected to include additional meetings with key Lebanese officials, reflecting Iran's commitment to nurturing robust bilateral ties with Lebanon amidst regional challenges.
