In a dramatic turn of events, the Court of Appeal in Abuja has overturned the election of Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State, declaring it null and void. This decision comes after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) initially declared Lawal as the winner of the March18 governorship election.
The victory of Lawal, who ran under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was challenged by the All Progressives Congress (APC). Despite the initial affirmation of Lawal's election by the tribunal, the APC persisted in their challenge and took the case to the Appeal Court.
