Soyinka Exposes Deceit in Peter Obi's Party and Warns Against Manipulating Youth

By Mohammed Bello Doka.
Renowned literature genius Professor Wole Soyinka recently made scathing remarks about Peter Obi's political party, accusing them of resorting to dishonest tactics. In an interview, Soyinka boldly stated, "I can say categorically that Peter Obi's party came third, not even second, and the leadership knew it but they want to do what we call in Yoruba 'gbajue', that is a force of lies."

The outspoken professor did not stop there. He alleged that the leadership of the party had attempted to manipulate young people into protesting against the election results based on false information. "They were going to send some of the hardliners, proud young people into the streets to demonstrate," Soyinka revealed.

However, Soyinka made it clear that he was only willing to stand amongst demonstrators if they rallied under the banner of truth. He firmly stated, "I'm also ready to be among such demonstrators, but only on the banner of truth, not on lies and deceit."

These statements by Professor Wole Soyinka have stirred controversy and sparked conversations about the integrity of political parties during elections. As a respected figure in both academia and activism, Soyinka's words carry weight and are bound to impact public opinion. The question now remains: will the truth prevail or will the web of deceit continue to entangle the nation's political landscape? Only time will tell.
