Recent news reports of water turning into blood in various places, ranging from a canal in Nootdrorp, the Netherlands; Bondi Beach, Australia; the Beirut river in Lebanon; a river in Zhejiang Province, China ; and even blood rain in Sewanagala Sri Lanka have caused fears of the end times around the globe owing to the biblical prophecy of body of water turning to blood at the end times.
Recently, a pool located in the Biblical region of Moab in modern Jordan has turned blood-red with authorities unable to explain the cause of the troublesome color change.
Water turning into blood carries major religious significance, reminiscent of one of the 10 plagues Biblical Moses cast upon the Pharaoh to free Jewish slaves from captivity.
Reports has it that sample of water from the pool have been collected by Jordan's Ministry of water and irrigation to determine the cause of the troublesome color change, which remains mysterious.
According to the Bible, the waters of river Nile were turned to blood by God, thus killing the fishes and also denying the Egyptians a source of fresh drinking water as a punishment for the Pharaoh's refusal to allow his Israeli slaves to go as commanded by God.
Another major historical background that makes the incident sensational is that the exact location that turns blood-red happens to be precisely where the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were before they were destroyed by God.
Alas, experts and clergymen have disclosed to newsmen that of all the modern reports of water turning into red blood contains the actual blood, rather a change of coloration either by natural means that's the present of certain bacteria in the water or some algae. Experts also report that some causes of water turning into blood-red are man made due to dumping of chemicals into water bodies by industrial processes. Thus, it can be safely concluded that we're not living in the tribulation.
