In the build up to 2023 General elections Nigerians were bombarded with the usual propaganda, campaign paraphernalia, slogans etc characteristics of electioneering campaigns across the globe. But amongst all these what stands apart and differ from the norm was barrages of Prophecies by men of God and or Pastors,Priests,Bishops and the likes who claim to have had different visions and or revelations from God.
Many of these men of God Prophesied, commanded and dictated that God told them unequivocally that Peter Obi of the Labour Party will, have and or must win the election and any impostor or anyone who try to swindle the election will be consumed by the fire of the holy ghost.
Some went as far as describing how they saw God almighty stretching forth his hand from his throne and placing same on Obi's head and declaring him the President in waiting beside whom there will be no other. But for the Prophecy to be fulfilled Nigerians have to vote wisely and vote Peter Obi. Meaning God requires our votes in order to have his prophecy fulfilled.
Fast forward the election has come and gone, Obi lost woefully and came distant 3rd as Predicted by many honest and sincere pundits, polls and predictors before the election, the consequence of which is majority of Nigerian Pastors, clergymen and so-called prophets have been put to shame.
Apparently they hears nothing from God and apparently they have used their mouths, pens and keyboards to say, write and ascribed same to God and of surety God did tell them nothing and they hears nothing but their vain desires.
They have been caught pants down, spreading lies and deceit because what God decreed will come to pass either anyone like it or not.
But instead of repenting and seeking true guidance from their Lord, same Pastors,Priests and Clergymen have come up with another tale by the moonlight. Some ignorantly condemning Nigerians for rejecting the choice of God, others cancelling Tinubu's victory and some coming up with another Prophesies that Tinubu will not be sworn in as President and claiming that God told them so.
As a matter of fact I do not blame these Pastors, I blame their gullible followers who believe them despite lying over and over again, when for a surety we know that whatever God decrees must come to pass, we all know that God knows the secret of what is in heaven and what is on earth and what lies beneath.
I blame gullible Nigerians who believe that man can reject God's choice and or have the power to make a choice contrary to God's choice.
This is due to the simple reason that they do not know the power of God but swallow hook line and sinker what their their Pastors told them. Jesus (pbuh) affirm this in the holy Bible when he said
“Jesus replied, “Your mistake is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God.” Matthew 22:29. Apparently either Nigerian Christians don't know the power of God or they feign ignorance to satisfy their wishful thoughts.
Undoubtedly the above verse can be applied to the present predicament the Christiandom finds itself today, for who is a man to reject the choice of God when "Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.” Romans 13:1
6. Psalm 147:4-5
“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.” Psalm 147:4-5.
If one knows and truly knows and does not follow wishful thinking or conjecture then one should know that God gives Power to whom he wills either anyone likes it or not
“But God made the earth by his power, and he preserves it by his wisdom. With his own understanding, he stretched out the heavens. When he speaks in the thunder, the heavens roar with rain. He causes the clouds to rise over the earth. He sends the lightning with the rain and releases the wind from his storehouses.” Jeremiah 10:12-13.
“He determines the number of the stars; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.” Psalm 147:4-5.
I will advice my Christian brothers and Sisters to seek more comfort and solace from the Bible and rely more on the scriptures to avoid being played like a ball by profiteers who's only interest is wealth, power and prestige. God knows best.
