Nigerians from all walks of life continue to express thier concerns regarding the arrest and subsequent deportation of the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party from the United Kingdom some weeks ago. Questions were also asked most especially on social media where one social media user asked some vital question here reproduced by Abuja Network News.
"Why has Peter Obi not called a press conference to explain to Nigerians, particularly his teeming Obidients what led to his arrest and detention in London, and his subsequent deportation to Nigeria?"
"Or better still: Why has Obi not gone over to AriseTV to explain EXACTLY what the British said were the reasons for his arrest?"
"Why are Nigerian media houses having to write to the British government for details of why they "INTERDICTED" (Yes, I used the word) the former Anambra governor and Labor Party's presidential candidate?"
Is it true, as it's being rumored in some places, that drugs and/or money laundering are parts of the investigation being carried out by the British?
Come to think of it: Shouldn't Obi, as a major presidential candidate, be traveling on at least an official passport, if not a diplomatic one? Could it be the reason he was deported instead of being arrested?
"The only person who can give quick clarity now and douse all speculations and rumors is Obi himself. Why is the usually talkative politician quiet now?"
At press time Peter Obi is yet to respond to any of these questions and or allegations.
Silence is NOT golden on this matter.
