2023 General Elections has come and gone, winners have emerged and loser are still licking their wounds, while Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is widely consulting and shopping for the best brains to issue in the renewed hope administration.
A great majority of the participants have chosen to move on while a few are still under the shadows of their own dreams coupled with wishful thinking and vein desires.
With careful observation of the Presidential election result it will be easier to infer that the 2023 election was indeed one of the most keenly contested elections in our recent history, with at least four candidate garnering over a million vote.
We have not seen these type of contest throughout the lifespan current dispensation and or republic since our return to Democratic governance since 1999.
Another thing is also clear, divided opposition did a lot of damage to itself thus helped tilted the pendulum of success to the ruling party in the process.
Atiku Abubakar of the PDP could arguably be described as the biggest loser of the election because he the opportunity to capitalise on the growing unrest, tension, anger and fear in the land to his advantage and cost home to victory. But he was swayed by emotions and petty rivalry which led him to miss the mark.
Talking of Atiku, one can only but wonder who on Earth did advised Atiku that he has nothing to worry about if he loses the votes from Peter Obi, Rabi,u Kwankwaso, Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde, Ortom etc.
Yes Obi might have already decided and is set to unleash his Ethno religious campaign thus fighting to retain him in the PDP might be a lost course, well that's just a hypothesis, had Atiku tried harder we could have known the fact or fallacy of the assertion. The fact that Obi bought form to contest the Primaries in the PDP means Atiku has a lot room to negotiate and keep Obi to himself thus saving himself the greatest political lost in his career. But arrogance, ego and pride got him swayed and by so doing he fail to realised his life long ambition of ruling Africa's most populous nation and largest Economy.
Similarly Atiku allowed Kwankwaso to go without any meaningful effort, the Kwankwaso factor played a vital role in PDP's poor performance in some states like Kano, Taraba etc. Politics being a game of number one could see the effect apparently on the final results as released by INEC.
It is the same with Ortom in Benue,Seyi Makinde in Oyo and Wike in Rivers state. When the G5 Governors presented their demand that the national chairman of the Party Mr. Ayorchia Ayu should be made to resign and the position shifted to the Southern part of the country Atiku did not only rejected the last condition for peace he did so scornfully and even had the affront to say on national TV that he has a plan on how to win the elections without Rivers State.
Peter Obi on the other hand has his whole plan of winning the elections at the back of an Igbocentric and Christian agenda.
Obi planned to win the elections without any meaningful campaign or structure in Katsina,Kano,Jigawa,Sokoto,Zamfara,Kebbi, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, etc. In fact Peter Obi never won a single state in the core North.
His "religious war" mentality and the barrages of prophecies by church leaders has blinded him that reason, logic and calculations have eluded him. The mere thought that Obi won the election can only be described as myopic.
