The speaker of the Federal House of Representatives Mr. Femi Gbajabiamela denies a report making round on social and traditional media of that he is against the ambition of his deputy Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase to succeed him as the speaker of the 10th House of Representatives.
The speaker made this announcement on his verified Facebook handle saying he has no preferred candidate amongst the contestants, and he is yet to throw his weight or oppose the ambition of any of the said aspirants who were his colleagues in the 10th Senate.
Mr. Gbajabiamela also said he is of the believe that there is a need to wait for the Party's zoning arrangement before making any major decision in that regards. Promising to respect the decision of his party because he was also a product of zoning by the party in 2019.
"I have not declared support for any of my colleagues who have declared their interest. I have made my position abundantly clear that there is a need to wait for the Party to complete its zoning exercise as I cannot work against my Party’s interest and position. I am a product of APC's zoning in 2019, and I shall adhere to that any time the party comes up with its arrangement." He added.
"Anyone/media peddling rumors of my endorsement of any of the aspirants should desist forthwith." He warned.
