The All Progressive Congress (APC)  North West chapter has call on the CBN  Governor Mr. Godwin Emefile and the Attorney General of Federation Abubakar Malami (SAN) To vacate their positions for misleading the president regarding the legality of the said policy.

The APC vice chairman North west, Dr. Salihu Lukman made this call in a statement on Friday, Mr. Salihu noted that following the ruling of the supreme court that the cashless policy is unconstitutional Mr. Malami and Emefile should take responsibility for their actions and honorably resigned from their positions.

He also express displeasure in the fact that the duo misled President Buhari into such act of illegally which equals to abuse of executive powers as pronounced by the apex court.

"Therefore, if indeed, the cashless policy of the federal government was supposedly designed to conform with extant legal provisions of the Nigerian Federation, now that it turned out in the direct opposite, both the CBN Governor, Mr. Emefiele and the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Malami should accept the limitations of both their knowledge of the law and commitment to democracy by resigning from their respective offices forthwith.” he added.

Kebbi, Zamfara and Kaduna State Governments have dragged to Federal Government to court over the legality of the action of the FG to unilaterally redesign the currency and fully implement the planned cashless policy unilaterally without carrying the states along in the process.
