With the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly slated for 13th June 2023 and the recent disclosure by the ruling All Progressive Congress APC that the party is yet to zone key leadership Positions for the 10th Senate, stakeholders, leaders and members of the Party across the length and breadth of the Country Continue to trow their weight behind the former Zamfara State Governor and Senator Elect Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Shettiman Mafara.
Findings by Abuja Network News reveals that major Stakeholders are convinced that Yari has the acumen, the quality and the wherewithal to lead the 10th Senate and deliver due to his Previous antecedent and track record in leadership.
Recently The National Assembly Aides Forum, The Arewa Youth Progressive Alliance and the Tinubu Media Team in different occasions call on the Party to consider zoning the Position to the Northwest in general and to Abdulaziz Yari in Particular.
The (NAAFORM) In a statement in Abuja and Made available to Newsmen on Monday call on the leadership of the APC to consider zoning the leadership of the 10th Senate to Yari because " it is of Paramount importance to inform Nigerians that Yari merits the position of the Senate President considering his performance and record achievement as a former member of the House of Representative in the Sixth Assembly 2007-2011 after which he secured the nomination of the ANPP to contest for the Governorship of Zamfara state in 2011".
Tinubu Media Team on the other hand says " Senator Yari as a founding member of the APC has proven his loyalty to the Party, he has been a dogged fighter from inception and has continue to use everything possible at his disposal to propagate, proliferate and obliterate the progressive ideology across the country. These and other reasons make us to trow our weight behind the former Zamfara state governor to lead the 10th Senate. We believe the APC will reward loyalty, capacity and hardworking members as this will go a long way to boost members confidence in the Party ".
The Arewa Youth Progressive Alliance on Tuesday in a Statement signed by the groups National President and made available to Abuja Network News says " Abdulaziz Yari has paid his due to the APC it is time the APC reciprocate this gesture. The Yari effect has been felt by the APC throughout the nook and cranny of the Northwest and Nigeria in general, it is our firm believe that Yari is best suited and fitted to be our next Senate President because he has shown Capacity, Competence and ability in leadership. "
"It is worth noting that Yari is not a newbie to the legislative process for he was once a member of the House of Representative before becoming the Zamfara State Governor in 2011 and he has performed wonderfully well in that capacity." The group added.
" We therefore call on the APC to consider zoning the leadership of the 10th Senate to his Excellency Alhaji Abubakar Yari the Shettima of Mafara as this move will go along way in straighten the narration of Poor reward system by the APC and the party's lack of support for hardworking members. "
