Is Atiku Abubakar Planning A Coup d'etat?

Major stakeholders have continued to raise concerns about a notice of meeting between the candidate of the opposition PDP Presidential candidate and some top military brass.

The motive of the meeting has been questioned by many prominent Nigerians both politicians, CSOs and the academia with many wondering if the former custom boss is planning anything sinister in a desperate attempt to acquire power.

The director of special operations and new media directorate of the APC Presidential campaign council former minister chief Femi Fani Kayode accused  Atiku of a wider agenda to disrupt the conduct of the election being faced with imminent defeat.

" ... Is this meeting part of the wider agenda to disrupt the elections, destabilise the country, set us on fire, incite chaos and violence. Provoke a coup d'etat and establish a new unconstitutional order in our beloved country under the auspices of an ING?" FFK queried in a tweet.

Atiku is known to enjoy a widespread support from some top retired military officers known as serial coup plotters, no wonder the meeting between Atiku and the serving military generals generated so much controversy from every corner of the country.

Nigerians are anxiously waiting and hoping for a free fair and credible election that will ensure a smooth transition from one civilian government to another for the sake of our nascent democracy.

Many prominent voices are also calling on the federal government to not only probe the allegations but to put necessary measures on ground to protect our democracy.
