If it’s Not Him, Then Who Else.

-The new Monetary Policy, matters arising!

It’s very easy to accuse the followers of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of trying to attribute everything to him, from success to masterplans, to development and even policies he has no hands-on with. It’s either his followers are attributing success to him or his detractors are accusing him of the opposite and when one tries to take his name off his mouth or head, the fourth estates and columnists make that difficult. It’s not complete news until Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s name is mentioned.

As of today, the polity and politics of Nigeria can not be discussed completely until the name of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is mentioned. That’s the man he is, the way he was created, a destiny(burden) he has to shoulder whether he likes it or not. Maybe it’s his nature or it’s in the name he so much loves to be called( one can not be called “Omo Olodo Ide” and expect to walk the same journey as that of ordinary people).

The latest monetary policy has gotten the Nation on its edge with loads of talks, opinions, and conspiracies flying around. One would expect Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to be at the Center stage of the matter, because, he’s after all just a Candidate contesting for the seat of the Presidency and not the President yet, not to mention the fact that the current administration is one he fought for and ensured they came into power while making him numerous enemies. Before the pangs of the new monetary policy started hitting the citizens, Bola Ahmed Tinubu at a rally was already pleading with those we do not know in flesh or know their names to not hurt millions to get to him. Yet, here we are, needing a Supreme-Court judgment to avoid a national disaster that could’ve engulfed the Nation.

The monetary policy itself cannot be entirely faulted as it meets or is similar to international standards and norms. But the execution and timing can be said to be faulty if not outrightly “Fishy”. The United Kingdom is currently reeling out its newly redesigned currency to have the face of The King rather than that of The Queen, but the United Kingdom is taking one out of circulation strategically without hurting the citizens or disrupting normal day-to-day activities and businesses like the one we are currently having in Nigeria.

One can not fault or call anyone a conspirator for speaking their mind after connecting the dots to see that putting deadlines on such a matter, a few days before the general elections, is an action that is either vindictive or with ill notions. The same central bank that kept quiet when billions of physical cash were being shared with traders some years ago through the Trader-Moni scheme can not say physical cash is a taboo all of a sudden or that the norm we have now can not be maintained till after the elections, not to mention the fact that the Central Bank’s head can not be called a neutral at this point after all that surrounded his name during the primary elections of the ruling party; he’s deserving of anything he’s accused of, because either him or people on his behalf, bought the form to contest at the primaries, with his face branded on cars, paraphernalia, and souvenirs without doing right by either debunking it himself or resigning as the head of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

At this point, we can no longer call anyone a conspirator or propagandist, as the results and events are there to back up their claims. People who think the current hardship the citizens are facing is another strategy to stop Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu have a precedent to back their claim with; a certain led Federal Government of this great Nation seized the federal allocation of Lagos State just to get to Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he wouldn’t budge or leave his progressive fold to join the bandwagon as his fellow governors did then. The records are there and the court judgments that were used to address the anomaly at that time are there for all to see. Those who came up with that dastardly act have the same motives as those being accused of this one, it was believed back then that to get to Bola Ahmed Tinubu it would be needed to get the Civil and Public Service of Lagos State to turn against, so they stopped paying Lagos share of the allocation with hopes that salaries will be owed, contractors will stop work on all strategic projects and the state running into turmoil, but the ploy failed and Bola Ahmed Tinubu has since then grown in limbs and bounds with many of those detractors who gave that advise now forgotten or irrelevant at this moment.

All is fair in Love and War, but those who want to fight dirty should leave the innocent citizens out of their war and or power tussle. The people of Nigeria have been through a lot to be subjected to any more hardship. If the supposed cabals, people we do not know in flesh or cannot name do not want Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the President of Nigeria then it is too late as they could’ve done so during the primaries. As of today, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the Flag bearer and Candidate of the APC, if he must be stopped then do so with honor and dignity without hurting the common man who has nothing but hope for a better future; and if Bola Ahmed Tinubu is their Renewed Hope then who are we to question their choice? Vox Populi, Vox Dei ( The voice of the People is the voice of God).
