The Counsel to the Kaduna State Government at the ongoing currency policy suit filed against the Federal Government by the trio of Kaduna,Kogi and Zamfara State Governments Abdulhakeem Mustapha has further filed a contempt of court suit against the Federal Government.
It could be recalled that during the proceeding today the learned silk drew the attention of the court to the Federal Government's alleged flouting of the order of the court last week by failing to comply with the extension of the use of old Naira notes.
While counsel to the Federal Government objected and denied the allegations, in response the panel said the issue cannot be attended to immediately until all the processes are filed and served.
Barrister Mustapha also accused the Federal Government of Executive recklessness by ignoring the said oder and insist that the extension should subsist.
It was learnt by Abuja Network News that Mr. Mustapha has filed the said contempt of court suit against the Federal Government for flaunting the oder of the supreme Court.
On a similar note the counsel to the Rivers and Kano State Governments Sanusi Musa (SAN) sought to move thier separate motion challenging the powers of the Federal Government to unilaterally impose the currency swap policy on Nigerians with out the approval of the Federal Executive Council and the Council of State.
In response Justice Okoro advised both Kano and Rivers to consolidate their suits with the other already existing suits.
The panel also adjourned for hearing on Wednesday, February 20.
