Jittery Edo State government, through the office of local government liaison officers have perfected plans to begin the distribution of COVID-19 palliatives which were met to be distributed to Edo people during lockdown almost 4 years ago. The heartless Edo PDP led government came up with this last minute plan after several attempts of convincing different factions of the party to vote them failed.
Findings revealed that the Liaison Officers who were mandated to deliver their local governments for PDP or risk being sacked as Council appointees are secretly begging APC members to accept the COVID-19 left overs which according to reports are laced with "do as l say charm". Meaning, if you collect the food items from them, that is the beginning of the end.
The items comprised of Rice, Beans, Noodles and other consumables most of which have expired and no longer suitable for human consumption.
It was gathered that the items would be distributed across various polling units in each of the Wards so as to reach the voters. The targeted persons are legacy PDP members, APC and fewer Labour Party members respectively.
You would recall that the Obaseki's led Edo which is remarkably notorious for all that is wicked was recently fingered in a dirty collaboration with CBN's new naira notes, using PoS operators in the state as cover as a tool to luring Edo voters to vote for his ailing party, the PDP.
An eye witness account who is a strong member of the PDP was said to have rejected the greek gift saying that "she won't accept anyone to feed her with poisoned foods just because of election. Me and my family shall continue to survive beyond PDP rice", she added.
Another account said that "he was called for a meeting to draw modalities for sharing formula but blatantly rejected the offer on account of principle and described the PDP led government of Edo state as wicked, ungrateful and full of ingratitude".
This is the new tactics by the Liaison Officers across Edo state. It has already started in some parts of Etsako East LGA like Okpella, Agenebode and Ibie and most likely to commence in other parts of Edo north in the coming days.
This is coming less than 48 hours after the EFCC launched a man haunt on its officials for financial impropriety, unprecedented massive looting of state treasury, diversion of state funds, community-road-grading -scam which it claimed the over 200 million naira disbursed to council was met for whereas, it planned to use it for vote buying on election day.
