The Senate Has extended The Closing Date For Collection Of Old Naira Notes.

The Nigerian Senate under the distinguished senator Ahmed Lawal has extended the lifespan of the old Naira notes by extending the status of the notes as a legal tender to the 31st Of June 2023.

This is contained in a motion raised by senator Ali Ndume (APC) and seconded by Senator Adamu Aleiru APC in today's plenary of the Senate. The motion was put on a voice vote by the senate President where majority of the senators from all divides vote in favor of the extension.

This is expected to bring succour and put an end to rancorous days and or weeks of confusion by majority of Nigerians trying to change their old notes amidst scarcity of the notes and CBN's insistence of no extension.
