Banditry: Katsina Emirate Council Dethroned District Head.

The Katsina Emirate Council has announced the dethronement of a kingmaker and a district head in the state traditional council due to links with terrorists.

Alh. Sule Idris also the Makaman Katsina was sacked by the council in a later made available to Abuja Network News in the early hours of Friday dated 19/1/2023.

This is not the first time a traditional ruler in the state will be found wanting in the dastardly act. It can be recalled that at the last quarter of 2021 about 5 traditional leaders were said to be found involving in one or two ways with the bandits, rustlers and kidneppers.

According to the letter of dethronement written in Hausa the district head was investigated for involvement with the dreaded sect by the state government and was found guilty which prompted a later signed by the state Governor to the Emir of Katsina intimating him of the development.

It was on that light that the Emirate Council act in accordance with the laid down rules of the Emirate to effect the dethronement of the district head. It is unclear weather other sanctions will be meeted on the Emir.

But according to sources familiar with palace and tradition the Emir will be banished from his Emirate for life as their can never be two Emirs in the same town for whatever reason.
