As we inch closer to the 2023 general elections it is becoming clearer by the day that the naysayers will be disappointed. Even before the primary elections there has been speculations from the wailers the Atikulators and most recently the obidients that the North will disappoint Senator Tinubu in favor of a Northern presidential candidate.
So they assume or at least they hoped, it is apparent that those fears expressed were only but figment of imagination and were never borne out of goodwill but of wishful thinking because they fear that if Tinubu wins the primaries then it is game over for them and their paid minions.
It is fresh in our minds how this baseless accusations by people who never wished Tinubu or APC any good keep resonating in various quarters to the extent that it began having effect on even the most loyal progressives who fear that if the North betrays Tinubu in the primaries that might as well spell the end of the APC. No thanks to Abdullahi Adamu's ill fated press conference on the choice of the senate President Ahmed Lawal as consensus candidate by the party few days to the primary elections which aggravated the fears and caused a lot of tension through the rank and files of the progressives.
Even the counter press release by the Northern governors forum which is unarguably the most powerful block and power broker in the North seems to do little in calming the nerves of majority of the progressives who have been working day and night to ensure the success of the Asiwaju in the primaries whom they believed have paid his dues and deserves some kind of payback.
These nerves were never to calmed until after the elections, sorting and eventually the counting of votes commence then the Eco of Asiwaju,Asiwaju did not only calm the nerves but sent the family into a frenzy, jubilation and celebration gallow all over the globe.
The naysayers have been disappointed, Asiwaju has won the primaries so we now have a candidate everyone can rally around, we now have a leader we can trust. As if that was not a statement enough, the same merchants of fake news devise another lie that there was internal arrangements between the Northern elite to give Asiwaju the ticket because otherwise he will decamp to another party and the move will kill the APC, but the North will vote for a Northern candidate in the general elections.
This is not only contradictory but illogical, the question to ponder here is if the Northern elite wants to impose yet another Northern President after Buhari why then the efforts to save the APC from collapse by giving Asiwaju the ticket? Why not deny him the ticket since the main opposition PDP has already fielded a Northern candidate in somewhat a controversial primaries so allowing Asiwaju to decamp thus crippling the party and clearing the way for the assumed Northern candidate?
Like I said earlier all these are nothing but wild allegations and figments of imaginations by people who never wish Tinubu or APC any good.
As if that was not enough the naysayers are at it again and this time even more ferocious with the help of their paid media minions, but every right thinking mind who looks at the Number of people trooping to the campaign venues of the various political parties will agree with me that Asiwaju is costing home to victory in sha Allah.
From Plateau to Kaduna and then to Niger states the three regional headquarters of the three geopolitical zones in the North it cannot be gainsaid that the North has made a statement and it was loud and clear that Asiwaju is the answer, anyone can try to undermine such statement at their own peril but I assure you that we will disappoint them and there pay master. Yes dear sirs we will disappoint you.
